Dear Colleagues,

Happy New Year to all of you for a rewarding 2008.

It has been 33 years since the RICBL was established on this day in 1975. We have traveled a successful journey thus far and we need to go much further. In order to make this journey enjoyable yet fruitful in our pursuit for excellence, we need to set our plans strategies correctly. It is a good time to take stock of the year that was and plan ahead to make a resounding success of the year that is. So my dear friends, I would like to appeal to each and every one of you to come forward and work together in fulfilling our dreams set for 2008. As your CEO, I will strive to make the RICBL more employee centric, whereby your concerns and needs are addressed to the extent possible.
At this special moment of our foundation day, it is great honour and privilege for me to launch this web page designed by our IT department. My message to all of you is that please embrace IT and make yourselves IT savvy. We must all agree that in today’s world of business, we cannot excel unless we have an edge in IT.
 
In 2008, we plan to realize the following plans and programs which we anticipate would take us to higher level of achievement sector:

• Implementation of the new software for Insurance and re-Insurance;
• To launch the Integrated Credit and Investment Management Systems (ICIMS);
• All branch offices made accessible online;
• Delegate the authority of claim settlement and GIS payment to the branch managers;
• Establish credit appraisal unit in branch offices;
• Strengthen the branch offices;
• To undertake an Organizational Development exercise;
• To market new products in Life and Non- Life Insurance; and
• To build the capacity of the employees through training in relevant fields.
